MOD Duo launches Kickstarter campaign

The MOD Duo, a hardware guitar effects unit running open source software, has just officially launched it's kickstarter campaign.

As opposed to other hardware units out there, the MOD Duo allows you to download, arrange, control and share effects, all using the power of open source software.

The MOD Duo uses plugins in the LV2 standard. It also includes various amp modelling software, notably Guitarix itself. You can choose which plugins to install to your device, arrange them in any way you like using a graphical interface, and share your set ups via MOD's social sharing platform.

In addition to using currently available open source plugins and software, the MOD team have also created, and released, code for their entire software suite. This is available via their Github page.
