Rui Nuno Capela has been on a pre-LAC2015 release frenzy with his Q-stuff suite of software. In the past week he has released updates for QjackCtl, Qsynth, Qsampler, QmidiNet, QmidiCtl and of course Qtractor. You can find full details about these releases over at rncbc.org.

Qtractor 0.6.5 is out!

Rui Nuno Capela has just announced a new release of Qtractor, this time codenamed 'The Fermion Ray'.

Highlights of this release include -

  • MIDI clip record/overdubbing (NEW)
  • Extended track multi-selection for mute/solo (NEW)
  • VST-shell sub-plugins support (NEW)
  • JACK transport start/stop resilience (FIX)

SoX, which stands for Sound eXchange, is a command line tool used for various types of audio processing and manipulation. Sox is a very flexible tool and can be used in scripting. Amongst other things, it can be used for audio format conversion/encoding, editing, applying of effects, and the playback/recording of audio files.

Updated Ardour FLOSS manual

Bruno Ruviaro has just finished updating the Ardour FLOSS manual. It was originally created in 2009 and was based on Ardour 2. Bruno has now updated it so it is now relevant to Ardour 3 and it's operations, including new screenshots.

New Ardour bug fix release available

The Ardour devs have just announced a new bug fix release. This release includes several absolutely vital fixes for bugs could lead to audio and MIDI files being irreversibly deleted from disk. Anyone using earlier versions of Ardour 3.5 are strongly recommended to upgrade.

Along with the few major, and minor fixes, there are also a few new additions, notably new MIDNAM file for Korg Volca series and a new version of Xjadeo, which is used for the video timeline.

Qtractor version 0.6.3 is released

Rui Nuno Capela has just announced a new release of Qtractor, an audio and MIDI multi-track sequencer. The new version, codenamed The Armed Hadron, has a number of new features, including the usual bug fixes.
