The Guitarix developers have just announced a new release, version 0.33.0. This release sees a number of new plugins added to the virtual guitar amp simulator. These include -

Spencer Jackson has just announced a new release of rkr lv2, his port of Rakarrack effects to the LV2 plugin format.

Audacity 2.1.1 has just been released with new features and performance improvements. Of note are -

Helm, a polyphonic synthesizer with realtime modulation feedback, has just reached beta stage. Helm is available in a number of forms, including a standalone client as well as being able to run as an LV2 plugin.

Helm has a subtractive synthesizer engine with three oscillators with 15 anti-aliased waveforms, cross modulation, 32 voice polyphony, a low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, notch, low-shelf, high shelf and all-pass filter.

Version 0.8 of setBfree, the DSP Tonewheel Organ emulator, has just been released. setBfree is designed to "imitate the sound and properties of the electromechanical organs and sound modification devices that brought world-wide fame to the names and products of Laurens Hammond and Don Leslie." setBfree is available as an LV2 plugin. There is also a JACK standalone version available.

OpenAV have been hard at work testing their plugins to make sure they are working on the MOD platform. OpenAV will be attending the Sonar+D event in Barcelona along with the MOD team. The MOD team are one of the 10 finalists for the Sonar+D StartUp competition.
