AVL Drumkits updated to version 1.1

Glen MacArthur, maintainer of AVLinux, has just announced version 1.1 of his AVL Drumkit sample pack intended to bring an "authentic acoustic, organic drum sound to your MIDI DAW arrangements and preserve real-world characteristics such as tom ringing and overtones unlike many General MIDI kits that sound sterile."

Drumgizmo drumkit family sees new member

Drumgizmo user, Sardonicus, has recently released an eight channel drumkit for Drumgizmo called 'ShittyKit'. Shitty by name, not so shitty by nature, this is Drumgizmo's first ever user created drumkit.

This kit is a Stagg Gia drumkit with the following instrument channels -

  • Ch 1: Kick
  • Ch 2: Snare
  • Ch 3: 12” Tom
  • Ch 4: 14” Floor tom
  • Ch 5 and 6: Overheads
  • Ch 7 and 8: Room

samplv1 (yes, lowercase) is an old-school all-digital polyphonic sampler synthesizer with stereo fx created by Qtractor author Rui Nuno Capela.

It comes as a stand-alone JACK client with JACK-session, NSM (Non Session management) and both JACK MIDI and ALSA MIDI input support.

DrumGizmo version 0.9.8.1-hotfix released!

The DrumGizmo developers have just pushed out a hot fix release, version 0.9.8.1. This fixes a rather serious bug in the resampling code that would cause sample skewing over the channels when resampling was enabled.
