While there are already many bread and butter plugins available for Linux, Infamous plugins aim to "fill some holes, supplying non-existing plugins for linux audio". New website, musical-artifacts.com , has just launched a beta version. The website brings together presets, synth patches, sample libraries, etc all in one place for users to browse and download. You can also submit 'artifacts' of your own to the website for other people to discover. Oliver Greschke recently unveiled PD Pulp , a plugin that lets you import your own Pure Data patch files and run them as a plugin. PD Pulp also provides you with 10 controlable parameters. The plugin was initially released as a VST plugin for Mac OS. falkTX has now made it available for KXStudio users. The Ardour devs have just announced version 4.2, codenamed "Taking Tiger Mountain". This release is primarily a bug fix release. Notably, the audio/MIDI IO backend for Windows has been replaced with completely new code. Other areas that have been concentrated on for bug fixes include plugins, automation, video and MIDI control surfaces. For full details on changes in this release, check out the...Read more
