Ardour 4.7 released

Ardour 4.7 is now available, including a variety of improvements and minor bug fixes. The two most significant changes are:

DFasma

DFasma

DFasma is a free open-source software which is used to compare audio files in time and frequency. The comparison is first visual, using wavforms and spectra. It is also possible to listen to time-frequency segments in order to allow perceptual comparison.

Ardour 4.6 has been released

Ardour 4.6 has been released with many interesting and useful new features, as well as loads of bug fixes. Let's check out some of what's new.

Track and bus duplication

Tracks and busses can now be duplicated. You'll find this option by right clicking on track headers in the editor window, or by clicking on the track/bus name of a mixer strip in the mixer window. This will duplicate the track/bus with all plugins and plugin settings.

Ardour 4.2 arrives, bug fixes galore

The Ardour devs have just announced version 4.2, codenamed "Taking Tiger Mountain". This release is primarily a bug fix release.

Notably, the audio/MIDI IO backend for Windows has been replaced with completely new code. Other areas that have been concentrated on for bug fixes include plugins, automation, video and MIDI control surfaces.

Ardour 4.1 has just been released. This release sees the addition of some interesting new features, along with the usual bug fixes.

Here's a rundown of some of the new features -

Input gain control - Audio and bus mixer strips now have an input gain control, allowing you to increase or attenuate the input signal by up to 20 dB.

Ardour 4 is released!

Ardour has just seen a new major release, version 4. Since the last release, there have been over 4,000 commits.

Ardour has seen a lot of infrastructure work and now uses a new graphics engine (cairo) for the editor window. You can now also use other audio backends other than JACK, for example you could use ALSA, although JACK is still the recommended backend.
