SuperCollider 3.7.0 Released

SuperCollider is an environment and programming language for real time audio synthesis and algorithmic composition. It provides an interpreted object-oriented language which functions as a network client to a state of the art, realtime sound synthesis server.

SuperCollider 3.7.0, over two years in the making, has finally been released!  Additions and fixes include (from the News in 3.7 help file):

Yoshimi, the ZynAddSubFX fork is now available not only as a standalone application, but also as an LV2 plugin.

It has not yet been released as a package, but according to developer Will Godfrey, should make it for the next Ubuntu release.

Infamous Plugins v0.2.0 pre-announcement

Spencer Jackson has just made a pre-announcement about the release of Infamous Plugins v0.2.0. As you may remember, Spencer uses a donate system whereby he initially releases the plugins DSP code, with donations thereafter pushing forward the release date for the plugins in all their GUI glory. Infamous plugins aim to "fill some holes, supplying non-existing plugins for linux audio".

Spencer Jackson has just released v0.1 of the Infamous Plugins suite. While there are already many bread and butter plugins available for Linux, Infamous plugins aim to "fill some holes, supplying non-existing plugins for linux audio".

While Infamous plugins were previously available, this is the first release with custom GUI's. The suite includes the following plugins -

Nekobi is a single-oscillator synth that provides a rich, punchy timbre typical of bass synths. Waveform choice is square or saw, fine-detunable up or down one octave.

Calf Organ

Calf Organ

Calf Organ is based on a drawbar organ; rather than emulating a specific organ it takes the basic idea and expands on it. You can adjust the harmonic and the waveform of each drawbar, and independently pan and detune them, too. It also has a pair of resonant filters, and three envelopes for modulation, which make it capable of all sorts of synth sounds beyond what you’d expect from an organ.
