October 2014 - tutorials, news and music
Welcome to October's newsletter. A few things have happened since last month that we would like to share with you.
LMP Asks – New interview series
As you may know, we have been planning a revival of the 'Friday Interview' series, which was previously created by Gabriel Nordeborn for his website zthmusic.com.
Last month we put out a survey to get feedback on what you wanted to hear asked, and also what you wanted to name this new interview series. Thanks to everyone that filled out our survey and helped out with this.
We are now happy to announce our new interview series, 'LMP Asks'. Our first interview is with Red Plastic Label, a web-based label that produces and promotes their artists using open source software and creative commons licenses.
New FLOSS music section
We have also greatly improved the FLOSS music section. This now has its own page and includes information about each artist including, music links, artists social media pages, searchable genres and a list of tools used by that artist, which will for quick reference, link to their entries in the tools section of LMP.
If anyone would like to be included in this section, please fill out our form with all relevant information, including a picture/artwork or logo.
Even more Tutorials
We have moved over more material from zthmusic.com. This brings with it 1 new article and 3 new tutorials. Thanks to Gabriel Nordeborn for contributing this content.
- Ardour 3 Tips and Tricks
- Ardroid (Android application): How to use it with Ardour
- Linuxsampler and Ardour: Using them together
- Sidechaining in Ardour 3
Jannis Polhmann has written an extensive tutorial on how he makes music with Ardour and other FLOSS tools, from recording to mixing. Check out Jannis' tutorial How I produce music with Ardour
!
We also have a new video tutorial Sidechaining in Qtractor using Ducka. This was kindly contributed by Holger Marzen. You will find his music project, Südwestlicht, in the new FLOSS music section.

What's next?
We would really like to fill out the tutorials section, as this really is the core of what LMP is about. Our focus will shortly shift towards expanding this section. We would like to encourage anyone interested in submitting material to contact us. Even if you have a half idea about what you would like to do, we are happy to give feedback and help with forming your tutorial ideas.
Thanks again to everyone for the continued support.
